Family Beach Pictures

Took my kid to the beach last weekend. It was her first time to see the "big water" and that got me thinking about how much digital photos have changed the landscape of family snapshots. I can literally count on my fingers the number of surviving beach pictures I have of me and my family but my kid is going to have gigabytes of hard drive pics to chose from. Wonder if she'll still think of them as treasures like I think of my beach pics.

Of course, I'm her favorite, just don't tell you know who. . . .

Cute n'yo talaga. And you are so right about kids nowadays having a million beach pics -- and pics of other trips, special events, you name it.

My sister-in-law's firstborn was an only child for 2.5 years. Each day throughout those 2.5 years, mommy took pics of baby eating, playing, sleeping, etc. Imagine how many pics those are when you add the baptism, birthdays, holidays, trips, school plays, etc.

Baby is now 8. In her own way, she appreciates how there are photos and/or videos of a good chunk of her childhood. Am sure your daughter will, too. If anything, she'll have all sorts of material for her wedding slideshow/video in (let's hope) maybe 30 years or so?

Hope Ondoy's waters went nowhere near your pics and hard drives.

Here's the thing, I've been wanting to back-up my pics for quite sometime now and had both the back up and the computer in one place. The home office got flooded but the stuff was evacuated. Still, I learned my lesson, backing up now and keeping it in a safe place.
